I recently enjoyed a serene getaway at Hotel Planas, nestled conveniently close to the beach and local eateries. As someone deeply rooted in Sri Lankan tea culture, the hotel attracted me with its emphasis on culinary offerings. The location is undeniably advantageous-a mere three-minute stroll brings you to the beach, while the bus stop for easy airport access is nearby. My single room, though lacking a balcony, was spacious and well-maintained, with a shower that provided a powerful, hot water experience. Breakfast was a daily ritual that I looked forward to. The selection, while fresh, tended to lean on the repetitive side-perhaps an increase in variety, like boiled or fried options, could enhance the experience. The assortment of breads and juices was commendable. The lounge bar and garden terrace served as relaxing enclaves, especially in the evening, with delightful ambiance to unwind after a day of exploration. Although I encountered some cleanliness issues at the pool, the overall comfort of my stay made it a pleasing escape from the bustle of daily life. As an enthusiast of tranquil retreats infused with cultural richness, Hotel Planas is an appealing choice.
